The GA-ASTA annual Chamber Music Workshop is scheduled for Friday evening and Saturday, October 25-26, 2013. High school and middle school string players in pre-formed groups will benefit from this coaching and performance experience madepossible by our state chapter of ASTA. They will be working with GA-ASTA member coaches in the facilities at the UGA Hodgson School of Music, and performing in Edge Recital Hall. Members bringing student groups often choose to participate as paid coaches, rotating around from group to group during the five coaching sessions. These culminate in a performance of all groups at 4:00 on Saturday.
Complete information can be found here. http://cello.uga.edu/cmw/
Expenses are the $60 per student registration fee, lodging for Friday night, and meals.
Members, please bring your students so that they can take advantage of this chamber music experience and grow as musicians. The youngest and least experienced students often work best in an octet arrangement playing quartets with two on a part. Groups are welcome to include double bass (Milton Masciadri will be one of the coaches), and we will also have guitar quartet as an option this year, involving UGA faculty member Phil Snyder.
