We are excited to be presenting our annual Fall Workshop on Saturday, September 9th, 2023, at Westminster Schools, 1424 West Paces Ferry Road, NW
Atlanta, GA 30327, from 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM. William Harris Lee and Mandarin Strings will graciously provide breakfast and lunch for us.
We will be offering 4 exciting sessions:
1st Session (9:00 am to 10:00 am): Creative activities speed skill development in the Orchestra classroom - Seth Gamba & Martin Norgaard. Music is a creative art! In this one hour session, we will show you hands-on strategies and activities to get to the top of Bloom’s Taxonomy every day. These short, creative exercises will have your kids reading better and playing more in tune while opening them up to the whole creative art of music making.
2nd Session (10:15 am to 11:00 am): Roundtable discussion. Workshop participants will be divided into smaller groups to discuss trends, concerns, questions with teaching including middle school, high school, collegiate and private lessons.
3rd Session (11:15 am to 12:15 pm): Teaching to the back of the Ensemble - Stephen Lawrence . Creative strategies to engage students from the front to the back of your ensemble. During this session we will discuss strategies for seating arrangements, playing tests, classroom games and student leadership.
4th Session (1:15 pm to 2:45 pm): Reading Session sponsored by JW Pepper and organized by Bo Na & Noelle Williams, and Door Prizes!!! Bring your instrument!
Current ASTA members may attend for free while non-members can attend for $25.00. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. All participants must register via this google form by Wednesday, August 30th.

Enter the front gate from West Paces Ferry, stay left at the fork in the road, and continue through two stop signs to the parking deck on the right (See map below). Proceed to Barge Commons, directly across from the parking deck.
